Frequently Asked Questions

Who can benefit from prosthetic or orthotic services?

Anyone who has experienced limb loss or faces mobility challenges due to injury, surgery, or medical conditions (like diabetes or stroke) can benefit. We provide devices that help restore daily function and independence.

Are the devices custom-made?

Yes. Every device at APC is custom-designed and fabricated to suit your specific body shape, lifestyle, and medical requirements. We do not believe in "one size fits all" when it comes to your mobility.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, we recommend scheduling an appointment for a clinical assessment. This allows our specialists to give you their full attention and perform a detailed evaluation of your needs.

This depends on how quickly your wound heals and when the swelling goes down. Typically, the fitting process begins 4 to 6 weeks after surgery, once your doctor clears you for prosthetic use.

How long will my prosthesis last?

With proper care, a prosthesis typically lasts 3 to 5 years. However, the "socket" (the part that fits your limb) may need to be replaced sooner if your body shape or weight changes.

Will my orthotic brace fit inside my regular shoes?

Most of our custom insoles and low-profile AFOs are designed to fit into standard athletic or walking shoes. We will advise you on the best footwear to use with your specific device during your fitting.

What should I do if my brace feels uncomfortable?

A well-fitted brace should provide support without causing pain. If you experience rubbing, redness that doesn't go away, or discomfort, contact us immediately for a professional adjustment.

Because children grow quickly, they may need a new brace or prosthesis every 6 to 12 months. we provide regular follow-ups to track your child's growth and ensure their device always fits correctly.

How often does my child’s device need to be replaced?

How soon after surgery can I get a prosthesis?

It is fast, safe, and much more comfortable for children than traditional plaster casting.

Is the 3D scanning process painful for my baby?
